Some people, who do not have any religious inclination, find it unpalatable to concentrate on an image or the sound of “OM”. For them meditating on their breath is as effective in calming their mind and finding inner peace.

Steps for this are also the same as in other types of meditation, viz, sit calmly, comfortably at a place. Now you do not do anything except close your eyes, watch mentally, at the tip of your nose, the touch of inflow, outflow of your breath .Just watch, and feel the touch. Do not force the pace of your breath. Just let the breath flow evenly, unevenly, whatever way it is flowing. Feel it. Just feel it. And slowly you will find the flow becoming even and smooth. You will find your mind also becoming calm along with the evening out of Breath. Sit as long as you can…
